European SMR pre-Partnership Stakeholders’ Forum – 26 October 2023 – Brussels and online

The European Small Modular Reactors (SMR) pre-Partnership is an alliance of key stakeholders such as SNETP, NuclearEurope, ENSREG, research institutions, regulators, interested customers and the European Commission that joined forces to work together towards innovation in the nuclear civil applications.

During the second-half of 2021 work started on the European SMR pre-Partnership, addressing a wide range of topics, from critical aspects such as market analysis, licensing, financing and supply chain optimisation to innovation, research, and development (IR&D) issues. A set of reports were produced, and the nuclear community was invited to provide feedback on these draft reports to help shape the future of SMR development in Europe.

In order to inform stakeholders such as policy-makers, NGOs, EU industry representatives, etc. on the progress made, as well as to obtain further feedback on the work undertaken so far, SNETP, NuclearEurope, ENSREG jointly organise a Stakeholders’ Forum on 26 October 2023 in Brussels and online. The capacity of IR&D to address the knowledge gaps depending on technology, and to provide elements for the SMRs safety demonstration and performance are among the topics that will be discussed. Safety issues are at the core of the new technological solutions, and we can support interested organisations to dig in the several issues by means of innovative analysis techniques.
